  • The Darkness: Video Game
Top Cow and 2K team-up for The Darkness, an intensely dark video game.
April 12th, 2007 - On his 21st birthday, the awesome and terrible powers of the Darkness awaken within Jackie Estacado, a fearless mafia hitman for the Franchetti crime family. Though Jackie’s supernatural entity lets him wreak havoc on his enemies, the Darkness also has a strong will of its own. Jackie must learn to contain the power of the Darkness if he hopes to regain control of the Franchetti family and oust his despicable Uncle Paulie.

As you fight your way through the dark and seedy underbelly of New York City as well as the ethereal realm of the Darkness, you can impale or implode your enemies. You can even cannibalize the corpses of your slain victims and transform them into Darklings – impish and hilarious demonites that commit unspeakable acts. The game features twenty different types of Darklings, like the kamikaze, interrogator, ceiling ninja, fetcher, and more.

The game also features an online multiplayer mode, where you can pit your Darklings against other players in both traditional and innovative gaming modes.

In addition to some beautiful next-gen graphics and fully interactive environments, the game features some top-notch celebrity voice talent, such as Kirk Acevedo (Band of Brothers, Oz) as Jackie, Mike Patton (lead singer of Faith No More) as The Darkness and Lauren Ambrose (Six Feet Under) as Jenny.

The Darkness was developed by Starbreeze - the team behind the critically acclaimed “The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.” Based on Top Cow’s comic book, “The Darkness,” the game is written by Paul Jenkins, a seminal writer in the comic book series.
